These determinants focus on technology used and the communities of learning created through the technology employed. Students registered for distance learning programs offered by colleges which are members of the FADIO group (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cegep-matane.qc.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep de Matane<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cegepgim.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep de la Gasp\u00e9sie et des \u00celes<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cegeplapocatiere.qc.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep de La Pocati\u00e8re<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cegep-rimouski.qc.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep de Rimouski<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cegeprdl.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep de Rivi\u00e8re-du-Loup<\/a>) or the <a href=\"http:\/\/cegepadistance.ca\/\">C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance<\/a> are targeted for this research project. Two data collection methods are used: an online questionnaire and a discussion group. So far approximately 50 students have responded to the online questionnaire and a discussion group has taken place. Data collection will continue until May 2018 and the students will be asked to complete the online questionnaire and participate in the discussion group each semester.<\/p>\n<p>In a practical sense, the results of this research will provide insights into students\u2019 perception of the technology used for distance learning classes. Students are also invited to comment on the strategies that should be implemented to promote distance learning perseverance and success.<\/p>\n<p>This research project received support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
